Messyla began as an idea on a cold wintery day. The idea of a creative life and a business to match. My path had been altered and I proceeded down my own little brick road of vintage buttons, fabrics and patterned papers.

Simplistic designs inspired by the world around me. Everything is made by me, La, and is a little bit vintage and a little bit country. Handmade in Scotland using organic, recycled and locally sourced materials.

I’m a home bird with a love for coffee, my boyfriend, my family, my Oscar, our animal family, bikes, vintage, flowers, baking, cooking, brown paper, nature and living a country life. x-x-x

All bikes featured on Messyla.com are custom, vintage bicycles by Boneyard Bikes.

You are adorable! :) Thanks for stopping by my blog…I hope you’ll visit again soon!

hi I love your blog and was wondering if you could give me some advice. Is it hard to set up an etsy shop, and do you think it is better than folksy? xx
Hi! I am so glad you like my blog.. it means so much to me.
I prefer Etsy to folksy because I feel that more people are on Etsy.. It’s the kind of thing like “where can i get handmade things?” “Etsy, is good for handmade”. So you get more possible customers.
I think the best things to think about for an Etsy shop is to figure out what you want to sell and how it is different or better than what is out there already. But it’s easy to set up and use, as websites go.
If you have any more Q’s, please let me know!! :) I’d love to help. xx
thanks for that, great advice. xxxxx

Hi La! I’ve really loved reading your posts over the last few months. Your pictures are all so pretty, and your daily updates keep me inspired to get back behind my sewing machine and keep working hard at my own little business! I’ve nominated you for a Liebster Award. Joanna x
