Perfect Pancakes

This Saturday I treated my boyfriend and I to some yummy American style pancakes. They were extremely easy to make (just throwing all the ingredients into the blender) and we dressed them with bacon with maple syrup or fruits with yoghurt. I had blueberries and strawberries with a very berry yoghurt on top. It was the most delicious brunch I have had in ages! Hope you all had a lovely weekend..x

Sunday Smoothie

Our New Years Resolution this year was to make and eat smoothies each morning using nuts, dried fruit and fresh fruit.. Today’s smoothie consisted of:

A mixture of poppy seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, cashew nuts, mixed nut variety and dried cranberries.
Raspberries (handful)
2 Tangerines
1 Banana
Natural Yoghurt
A splash of Apple Juice

(Serves about 3 people) Whizzed up in our blender! I like to eat them like a yoghurt. And flip through this months Country Living. Sunday at it’s best..x

Bird Watching at Breakfast

Something that has become a hobby of ours, since moving to a cottage, is bird watching! I never used to understand it.. but I genuinely feel it is such an under-rated hobby. I get such enjoyment out of watching the birds every morning with breakfast. And feeding the birds is always our top-priority in the morning (before we feed ourselves!). But, once the bird seed, biscuits and fruit is out.. the show begins!

We have about 16 different types of birds that visit throughout the day/week. For a family who have gone from having no birds whatsoever to getting any birds at all is truely remarkable! So when we discovered that our house is a go-to, hip and happenin’, place for birds to eat and hang out.. we were overjoyed!

When I first saw a Robin, I was completely taken aback! They are so beautiful and I always wonder whether they know just how beautiful they are. Now, she comes every morning for breakfast. (See here for a photo.)

I feel so lucky each day when I see all the little birdies. Some of my favourites are the chaffinch, robins and sparrows! But I love them all.. Does this mean I am now a crazy bird lady too?  x

 

**Also would like to add that for all the wonderful (& hardworking!) birds out there at the moment, it is very difficult for them to find natural food supplies. So a little biscuit or two, household scraps or bird seed would go a long way in preparing them for Springtime. **

Friday Feeling

Hi, again! Well, Friday already.. I’ve got that zip-a-dee-doo-dah (zip-a-dee-day) feeling today as the work week draws to a close. How come it’s always the second week back to work, after Christmas, that is a little challenging? This weekend I am going to relax, drink lots of coffee and perhaps frolic in the snow if it begins to fall as predicted..

This lunchtime, I took some time out to read this months issue of Mollie Makes! I find that when it arrives each month, I quickly scan it and never get back to reading it cover to cover. Which I wish I did more, because there are some inspiring crafters out there that really give me some oomph to keep working and progressing!
