This week is going to be a busy one as I photograph new and existing stock for the New Shop. I am so excited and so far I have listed the birthday cards and father’s day cards! It’s the first time, in my online career, that I have voiced a deadline. I normally scrawl it in my diary and think “I’ll aim for that” but never really do. So I thought, to push myself, I will tell my followers the exact date and time that the shop will launch. No pressure. No biggie.
I also have lots of re-stock orders this week too.. so everything that’s new to the shop will also be available at 5 of my stockists. Everything is all happening at once this month and I absolutely love getting immersed in everything I have to do. Especially the part that my little Niece, Ruby, should be here any day now. x
A popular item at Messyla was always the crochet bookmark. They have evolved so much since I started 2 years ago, that seeing the originals makes me cringe with disgust! I used thick, bold coloured, felt and cut them into flower shapes using curved nail scissors.. Thankfully that is in the past and I am hopeful none of them exist anymore. However, I love the new style of the bookmarks. They are so dainty and using beautiful french yarn for the flowers. With delicate little pearls in the centre. Perfect for reading, cookery books, your family story book for the children or even your big pile of ugly paperwork on your desk! x
Working with pastels this week has been so lovely and refreshing. It may not be Spring outside, but bringing bright decorations inside certainly makes it feel like a fresh new season has blossomed. I love when things are easy to photograph and the pale pastel colours are perfectly captured!
I think pastels are pretty versatile. They would sit perfectly in a baby’s nursery, in a kitchen to add some colour or draped around a curtain pole in a bedroom! All pastel items are available at the online shop.. let me know what you think of them.xx
This week I have been working on some more wedding items for the online shop. I love that I can supply a bride with handmade beauties for the big day.. something a little different to the usual accessories and is extra special. This is the beginning of a crochet ring bearer cushion. A pale organic blue wool seemed perfectly bridal and could also be the bride’s something blue!x
Pink crochet flower garland available here.
Yesterday I picked up this pretty pastel pink teapot whilst rummaging through the shelves at Tkmaxx. I love when I find a new piece for my china collection that inspires me for a future photo shoot. Pink seemed the way I wanted to go today with a little sprinkling of a baking theme. And I thought my crochet flower garland would fit perfectly with the theme! Happy Monday. x
Blue crochet garland available here.
Hi everyone! What do you think of my website re-design? I hadn’t changed the layout and style of my blog for about 8 months and I felt it was time for a change. Spring cleaning. I also knew I wanted to incorporate one of my makes into the website header and currently the Twiggy Wreaths are my favourite item in the shop. I renewed all the information in the About Us, Contact Us and Stockists page too! (Use the overhead tabs.. Eep!). Overall it was a day for square eyes as I sat by the computer screen making graphics and deciphering whether words like “Welcome” were real words after I had typed them so often.
I now feel fresh and tidy online and offline. So hopefully this spurs some extreme productivity as I fill my Online Shop with goods. I am getting closer to a deadline I set for myself to have this all complete.. so it’s off to work I go.
Enjoy your day.x
