Wedding Bells + Last Minute Plans.

Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a lovely weekend in this somewhat brighter weather. I apologise for the lack of posts this past few weeks – things are hectic around here with orders and wedding plans looming that I haven’t had much time to sit down and blog. Which makes me sad, because blogging is such a great way to connect with you all.

My sister’s wedding is in less than two weeks and all the handmade touches are being finalised. Making seating charts on miniature blackboards to tidying my room (to extremes) have been some of the tasks we have been tackling this week. My sister is getting ready and prepared for the big day in my room, so we are trying to turn it into bridal heaven. We have bought some of Emma’s favourite sweets + flowers and have looked out all my cutest vintage goods to place on my thrifted lace table covers.  I can’t wait to take photos of each and every detail for the blog and also on my Facebook page. Right now, I don’t want to give too much away!

Despite having everything else under control, I still haven’t altered my dress! Eek! I know, I know. How could I have left it so late?
I have also added a beautiful vintage clip to my outfit from the fabulous Melle Cloche. I could go crazy buying one off beauties, or feathered shrugs, or exquisite pyjamas in there. We are very lucky to have them here in Glasgow and also their online shop.

Morning! Can you believe it is Thursday? The weeks are scarily flying in and my to-do list never seems to diminish! Although, I have been doing some lovely things this week; making and packing beautiful bridal cards for Melle Cloche, getting a head start on wedding decorations and in general creating away from the workshoppe. Little insights into a little cottage life.

I’m Back!

Hurrah! Back to my beloved blog at last. This week, as every week seems to be these days, has been a whirlwind of events. I had a lovely 3 day holiday in London and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

Cameron and I followed The London Coffee Guide and visited coffee shops around different areas of London. I have to say, the coffee scene is incredibly different down there. We normally take our coffee and chill for a good hour on comfy seating and talking to the friendly baristas. But in London, everyone was in a rush…always! It felt as though everyone was running from A to B and downing flat whites at their favourite coffee pit stop. It was intriguing to see but also a little rubbish since it meant all the shops were very small and therefor always full. But we worked it out! (sitting on the pavement outside Monmouth Coffee was one resort.)

We didn’t do much sightseeing, we took a long walk past Big Ben and the London Eye one night after dinner which was so surreal! I had never been so close to Big Ben before and I felt a rush of overwhelming happiness that such sight was in the Uk. Only 4 hours on the train. Wow.

Alfresco Working

The sunshine and summer have finally hit Glasgow..and with a bang! This heat wave has lasted a week now and it has been glorious. I have taken on a little glow (which is incredibly rare for me) and watered my plants thoroughly. As you can imagine, the summerhouse is basically like a greenhouse in warm weather. So I decided to mix things up a bit and go Alfresco!

Working outside was so motivating: the breeze, the sun and the lovely outdoor smells. However there were some distractions in the form of butterflies or birds or anything outdoorsy really. It does feel weird to be able to sit outside with no tights and no sleeves, something I rarely do but was necessary this week.

Today I am away to my day job and then out for a little girly catch up tonight, I hope you all have a lovely day! Today felt like a red lipstick day, after watching the mesmerising Rachel Khoo on her new cookery show on BBC2. If you didn’t get to watch it, make sure you do. She is so sweet and makes me feel guilty for having less than impressive meals some nights. But in a good way.xx
