Ta-dah! Today I spent the day creating tissue paper pom poms for around our fireplace. It is Ruby’s first Christmas and we want to make everything magical for her. Tissue poms are simple to make and look so beautifully abundant.
All in all – including tinsel and twinkle lights – this decoration only cost about £15 and an afternoon of making. The perfect way to decorate and to really ‘wow’ your guests!
I will post a little DIY tomorrow on how to make these wonderful pom-poms. I hope you are all well and getting ready for Christmas with your families.xx
Christmas has landed in our little cottage! Today we decorated our tree and the house with glitter, reindeers and snowmen. We used to decorate our home 12 days before – and were a little bit strict about it – but strangely as I have got older I have started to decorate earlier and earlier. Partly because I make Christmas goods for messyla in summertime but also because I love how magical Christmas time is!
Also, my heart and thoughts go out to all those affected by the helicopter crash this weekend – such tragic news for Glasgow. xxxx
This week has been a lot of styling and Christmas creating. I also painted the reverse side of my faux wall a mascarpone white.. which I am SO in love with. With the issue that now I want to re-photograph every single thing in my shop! Does anyone else get like this? I am such a perfectionist that after about three weeks I end up wanting to change every photo! Eeek!!
These new little mistletoe beauties are a real favourite of mine. I think they will look great on the Online Shop and also on all my lovely customer’s trees! x
This weekend I have been working on a lot of projects and designs that involve Christmas settings. It’s always the strangest thing preparing a Christmas table or wrapping pretend gifts.. but I love the path Messyla has taken me on and the exciting ventures I get to take part in. And I am secretly happy at how long the christmas season lasts for me. (Practically since August. So, y’know, you could call me an Elf.)
I started making a Festive Box in the last couple of years – full of decorations, sparkly candles, candy cane twine, beads for the tree and little christmas figures for around the house. Christmas is a wonderful time of year and bringing down the box of goods has become a tradition that makes me so happy. Do you have a Christmas box? x
New pin cushions have been added to the shop today.. perfect for those Christmas crafting weekends on the horizon! Friday, hallelujah! I hope you all have a great weekend. xx
Enjoy your bonfire night everybody! I am having some friends over for burgers, homemade rocky road & flapjacks and beers. And a little sparkler or two. Hurrah!
